Sarah Goldsmith

 

  • Sarah began to play the clarinet and recorder at school and continued studying locally with both Gill Thorn and David Woods.
  • She has played with several local orchestras and spent a year playing with the “Original Woodwind Ensemble” and performed with them at The Royal Festival Hall.
  • In 2002 Sarah gained a B.A. honours degree in Music from City University and Won the Departmental prize for her dissertation.
  • During her time at City, Sarah continued her studies on clarinet with Victor Slaymark at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
  • Since leaving University, Sarah completed a PGCE at the University of Surrey, Roehampton.
  • In November 2008 she was awarded Advanced Skills Teacher Status.
  • Sarah was Assistant Head Teacher at Northwick Park Primary Academy.

Sarah is currently

              Working for Essex Music Service as the Music Schools

              Curriculum Officer..

  • Working with the Royal Opera House Bridge and Essex Music Hub as a specialist Music Teacher and project Co-ordinator. and also as Channel 4 Music Education Advisor.
  • The Musical Director of The Canvey Community Choir.

Andrew Palmer

  

· Andrew studied music at Surrey University specialising in performance and composition then completed a PGCE at Kingston University. 

· Andrew recently took on the role of guest musical director of the Show Choir and is the accompanist for the South East Essex schools' music festival held annually at the Cliffs Pavilion.

· He has worked extensively as an accompanist, arranger and chorus master with local groups in the Billericay and Southend areas including: Leigh Operatic and Dramatic societies; local stage schools; MAPA and Singer Stage School. He is also the pianist for local ladies' choir Cantare.

· He was a local Primary Headteacher for 13 years; and now does teacher training and maths tutoring as well as looking after his 3 young grandsons.

· Andrew is working with Canvey Community Choir who enjoy their singing.
