Behind the scenes our Patrons helps to establish the viability of Canvey Community Choir and also to help promote the benefits of what singing in a choir can give to its members, such as:-
To improve members knowledge of music and singing ability.
To reduce social isolation and foster friendships, and perhaps more importantly what benefits the Choir can give to the community.
Entertaining audiences on Canvey and in Castle Point Borough for Events such as; Annual Remembrance Day, The Armed Forces Day, Mayor's Charity Concert and other Charity events and shows.
Entertaining residents in Sheltered Housing / Residential &
Nursing Homes.
Raising funds for local Charities by performing concerts or being one of several acts within a show.

Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Castle Point
Ray is a True Islander and since 1985 he has represented the
community as a Borough Councillor and a County Councillor
His tireless work over the years has earned him the title of
"Mr Canvey"
COUNCILLOR PETER MAY
Peter is a Borough Councillor and a County Councillor
He works with various charities and organisations such as Age Concern, BOPH (Business Opportunities for Physical Handicap), Island Boys and Girls Football Club and Smallgains Hall.
